DON NIGRO — ANIMAL TALES

BHAT Theater invites you to our Spring 2024 premiere!

“Who are we? Are we people? Are we animals? What frightens us, attracts us, intoxicates us, fascinates us, deprives us of sleep and peace?” Eleven poignant sketches about what Animals think and feel when they acquire human voices, based on the well-known play by contemporary American playwright Don Nigro, translated by Viktor Weber.

Some may call this play a tragic farce, others a black comedy or a phantasmagoria, but we promise that it will not leave you indifferent!

Together with the main character and the Spectator (Teenager), you will meet numerous Animal characters and immerse yourself in their dreams, fears, temptations and dreams...

See you in the theater!

LYSISTRATA

Our BHAT Theater is pleased to invite you to LYSISTRATA, the famous ancient Greek comedy by Aristophanes, which is more relevant than ever today. It is the story of how women decided to make men stop the war and of how important love is in our lives. And, as always, we hope to delight our audience with humor and create a wonderful, joyful mood. We all need it so much!

Directed by Leonid Stepanov.

Under the auspices of the host — our theater — the First Humorina took place.

Of course, there were a few lumpy pancakes. But that did not prevent the audience from enjoying this new event for all of us.

The friendly and cheerful atmosphere of the celebration, combined with a fighting spirit and … everything worked! In the “First…” our theater was joined by:

the Capital Kapustnik theater company, Washington, and the Experiment theater company, Washington.

September 9, 2017 — THE TALE OF FEDOT THE STRELETS

The third and, at that time, final performance of the fairy tale based on Leonid Filatov’s play “The Tale of Fedot the Strelets” was successfully presented.

Slayton House once again became a field of struggle between good and evil where, as the theater archive noted, BHAT’s creativity and professionalism prevailed.

Leonid Filatov — “The Tale of Fedot the Strelets.”

The play was written in 1985 based on the Russian folk tale “Go There, I Don’t Know Where.”
